I have come to give you life, that you may have it abundantly. (John 10:10)
Once again, the Christmas season is here. In this time of celebration many people do not feel the same sense of excitement that we feel.
We have the hope and understanding that Christmas is a season of rejoicing as we celebrate the victory which was brought to us through our King.
However, our cities, towns and villages are full of people who are blinded to the truth about Christmas, and as a result, find it to be a time of stress and trouble.
The Joy of Christmas is replaced with loneliness and depression. This, unfortunately, is the Christmas many of our neighbours feel, and therefore all the excitement and hype of the season is a great let down.
The whole meaning of Christmas is to celebrate the dawning of a new age: the coming of the Saviour! We now, more than ever, need to see Christmas as a time of evangelism; the blessing of sharing this great news.
The message of the cross was echoed in John 10:10 “ I have come that you may have life, and have it to the full.” That full life is eternal life, the life that begins the day of our salvation. “O how great is the love that the Father has lavished upon us, that we should be called the children of God.”
In this season of joy, take the time to share what we are celebrating; salvation through Jesus Christ.
Too often, the best kept secret is the message of the cross, and yet this is the message that many people are longing to hear.
I pray that your Christmas is full of spiritual rewards, but most of all, full of opportunities to share the message of Christ.
